چکیده

Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete is recent introduction in the field of concrete technology. The present day world is witnessing the construction of very challenging and difficult Civil Engineering Structures. Concrete being the most important and widely used material is called upon to possess very high strength and sufficient workability properties. Concrete the most widely used consrtuction material has several desirable properties like high compressive strength, stiffness, durability under usual environmental factors. At the same time concrete is brittle and weak in tension. Efforts are being made in the field of concrete technology to develop high performance concretes by using fibres and other admixtures in concrete upto certain proportions. To improve the concrete properties, the system was named alkali resistance glass fibre reinforced concrete in the present view the alkali resistance glass fibre has been used. In the present experimental investigation the alkali resistance Glass Fibres has been used to study the effect on compressive, split tensile and flexural strength on M20, M40 and M60 grades of concrete

Fibre reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete studied by computed tomography

The production process of fibre reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete results in a preferential orientation of the fibres. The fibre orientation largely influences the strength and the deformation behaviour of this building material, therefore information on the fibre orientation is highly desirable. Computed tomography measurements allow for the non destructive investigation of the material. ...

Flexural and Impact Properties of Stainless Steel based Glass Fibre Reinforced Fibre Metal Laminate under Hygrothermal Conditioning

Fibre metal laminates (FMLs) have appeared as the most suitable materials for shipbuilding, aeronautical and aerospace applications due to their superior mechanical properties over traditional materials. In this paper, degradation in flexural and impact properties of glass fibre/epoxy composite (GF/E composite) and stainless steel glass fibre/epoxy fibre metal laminate (SS FML) due to hygrother...

An Experimental study on Effect of Rice Husk Ash and Glass Fibre on properties of Cement with Partial replacement of Fine Aggregate by Quarry Dust

Fiber reinforced concrete is a composite material consisting of mixtures of cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate and fibers. The fiber reinforced concrete exhibits better fatigue strength and increased static and dynamic tensile strength and compressive strength. In this project, the strength of fiber reinforced concrete was investigated partial replacement of cement with rice husk ash and ...

Composite Materials for Next Generation Building Façade Systems

Composite materials, such as glass fibre reinforced polymers (GFRPs), possess the advantages of high strength and stiffness, low density, as well as manufacturing flexibility; therefore, their potential in replacing conventional materials (such as concrete, aluminium and steel) in building construction has become attractive. One of the major issues that hinder the extensive use of composite str...

Some Studies on Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete

Fibres are generally used as resistance of cracking and strengthening of concrete. In this project, I am going to carry out test on steel fibre reinforced concrete to check the influence of fibres on flexural strength of concrete. According to various research papers, it has been found that steel fibres give the maximum strength in comparison to glass and polypropylene fibres. Hence, in this pr...
